Local Areas of Interest

Konawa Lake The 1,350-acre Lake Konawa is complete with concrete boat ramps, picnic tables, rest rooms, swimming beach and parking areas. 

 Konawa Public School System is an excellent school and offers a wide variety of extra curricular activities.  It is proud to have a top ranked band as well as competitive sports programs.  Each grade averages around 50 students.  Konawa is K-12.

Just outside of Konawa stands the Seminole OG&E Power Plant.  It is the largest employer in the area.  The plant uses the water from Lake Konawa and therefore keeps the water at a steady year round temperature. 

Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center is a full service facility offering medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, mental health and VA services. 

Konawa has two sites that are on the National Historic Registry: Konawa Armory built in 1937 and Sacred Heart Mission just to the west established in 1883.
