Oklahoma Appliance Rebates

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved Oklahoma ’s plan for the state’s Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce will implement a mail-in rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with new ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances. Rebates are tentatively scheduled to be available starting April 2010, in coordination with Earth Day activities, and will continue until funds are depleted.

Eligible products include:

• Refrigerators

• Clothes washer

• Room air conditioners

• Electric heat pump water heaters

• Solar water heaters (electric backup)

• Gas furnaces

• Central air conditioners

• Geothermal heat pumps

Consumers must provide proof of proper disposal of the old unit to obtain a rebate. Oklahoma encourages consumers to recycle old appliances.

Funding for the $3.5 million rebate program is provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
