Welcome to City of Konawa's Website

Konawa is a great small city in Central Oklahoma.  We are located SE of Shawnee and NW of Ada on State Highway 39 between State Highways 177 and 99.  The Konawa Lake is a World Class Bass Fishing Lake and is open year round.  The Konawa City Council and Konawa Employees strive to make Konawa the Best it Can Be.  It is our goal to provide quality essential services to the Citizen's of Konawa.

Konawa means "string of beads".  The early settlers thought the morning dew and the sunlight shining across the railroad tracks in the early morning, at a glance, looked like a beautiful string of bead-hence the name.
